A common question I get all the time is this: how many wedding bookings should you take on every year? So here’s my advice on this topic: Do not take on more wedding bookings than you can handle! If it’s only you running the business and wearing all the hats, I recommend taking on a maximum of 25 wedding bookings in one year (service-based wedding business).
Do You Feel Overworked and Underpaid?
It’s easy to fall into this trap if you take on too many wedding bookings in one year.
I understand that new wedding companies may feel the need to push the number of wedding bookings they take on as they will want to build up their portfolio
But for those that have a mature wedding business, I would recommend raising your prices and moving towards fewer wedding bookings.
I took on too many wedding bookings when I had my wedding planning company. For three years in a row, I had weddings booked for every weekend.
I hardly saw my kids., I missed out on parties and sports games, and I got really sick.
It was only when I fell pregnant with child no 4 that I realized how stupid I was being.
And the crazy thing was, I still had little money to show for it.
Why? Because I wasn’t charging enough!
Being busy Does Not Equal Success
It’s easy to fall into a false pretense when you’re busy.
You may think that you are successful because your calendar is full, but in actual fact, you’re not making money, you’re working too many hours, and your business is a mess!
What to do Instead
If you want a successful wedding business, whether you’re a wedding planner, a photographer, a venue, or in any other vendor category, you need to work smarter and raise your prices!
How to Work Smarter
One of the easiest and smartest things you can start using for your wedding business growth is automation.
The next best thing is outsourcing what you can to a team or a specialist, and the final tip for working smarter would be to set up specific marketing strategies.

How Many Wedding Bookings Conclusion
I’m sure you can sense my passion for this topic.
Don’t do what I did! Raise your prices and take on the number of wedding bookings that you want to do each year.
If that’s 10 weddings, go for it. If that’s 25 weddings, go for it.
But if it’s more than that…
Be careful!
Especially if it’s only you and you have a family to take care of.
Raise your prices and align your business strategies to attract the audience that will pay those rates.
Will bridal couples pay high prices?
No, not all of them…
But the right ones will…
You’ll make more money…
Work fewer hours…
And have more time for a life beyond your business!
Until the next time,
