marketing tips for your wedding business

My Top 8 Aggressive Wedding Business Marketing Tips

In order for you to better understand this marketing strategy, I’m going to use a pretend wedding venue as an example throughout this article. Wedding venues (in my opinion) have the toughest marketing journey in terms of time.

As soon as a couple gets engaged and starts to plan their wedding – the wedding venue is the first stop in their wedding planning journey. If a wedding business is not using these aggressive marketing tips, they could be losing out on a lot of business.

A bridal couple will start by asking friends and family members for ideas or recommendations, they’ll start compiling lists and reaching out to wedding venues for their wedding packages and availability.

If the wedding venue does not have its foundation (open for business) steps in place. The potential bridal couple could miss their venue completely. If you haven’t already read my article about being open for business to attract more wedding leads – I suggest you read that now!

The following Aggressive Marketing Tips for Your Wedding Business will help you stand out from the crowd and be seen by any potential customers consistently.

marketing tips for your wedding business

1. Create a Strategic Roadmap to Follow

Waking up one day and deciding to start an aggressive marketing plan will not help you in the long run. Believe me – I’ve tried it!

The only way that you will start and stick to a marketing plan is if you have it set out in front of you with clear and easy-to-understand daily and weekly tasks.

To do that – you will have to take some time to put your marketing plan into a step-by-step roadmap.

2. Post on Multiple Social Media Platforms Every Day

I’ve said it before and I’ll continue to say it time and time again. Wedding businesses have very little time to attract, nurture, and convert leads into bookings. Therefore approaching your social media posts as a nice-to-have marketing tool is the wrong approach if you want a successful business.

You need to be aggressive with the algorithms, less spammy with hashtags, and consistent with your value-packed posts each and every day (even twice per day if you can).

You will also want to post on multiple platforms to reach as many potential customers as you can, as quickly as you can – and don’t forget this! Pallyy is a great tool to help you schedule your posts on multiple platforms.

social media platforms are word-of-mouth marketing platforms – they are not sales platforms.

You need to use this tool to remind your fanbase that you exist so they can recommend, refer, and promote you to their friends and family.

3. Create a Blog for Your Website Every Week

Every wedding business wants their wedding company on the top spot of Google when a bride searches for their product or services. One of the easiest and fastest ways for your wedding company to get to the top of Google is with blogging.

But, blogging for the sake of adding words to your website is not what I am talking about. With aggressive marketing – you need a content plan. A roadmap of what articles to write and what keyword phrases to use throughout that article.

I have a blogging masterclass coming up soon!

During this workshop – I’ll break down a blog post to help you map out your blog posts for maximum benefit with Google and other search engines.

4. Ask for Referrals from Bridal Couples, Vendors, and Venues

Anyone can ask for a referral, but to do it as part of an aggressive marketing plan, you will want to take it to the next level by reaching out to everybody in your industry and your past clients with direct links to every review site you can find for them to copy and paste their review and endorsements all over the internet.

For example, Google Reviews, Yelp, WeddingWire, TheKnot, and Facebook.

The next step is to create testimonials and review templates on Canva or any other design platform to use to promote on your social media platforms every week and then, of course, add your reviews and testimonials to your website.

If you are using WordPress as your website platform, you can also add a plugin to show your reviews directly from Google.

5. Send out a new Email Campaign Every Week

If you haven’t already signed up with an autoresponder – now is the time to do it. There are plenty to choose from. For those of you just starting out – Mailerlite is a great option. GetResponse is another great autoresponder with lots of added features.

You can also sign up with a CRM management system like Honeybook or Dubsado that combines email campaigns and automatic workflows with other wedding business tasks like invoicing, proposals, contracts, and payment plans.

Here’s my affiliate link for Honeybook if you’d like to take advantage of a 50% saving on the first year.

When you send regular emails to your leads and contact list, you are reminding them that you exist. This works really well for wedding services and products as you will never quite know where each bridal couple is on their wedding planning journey.

For instance, they could be saving up before booking their vendors. They could be looking for a wedding venue first before starting to look for a wedding photographer, or they could have fallen out with a vendor and are now on the hunt for someone new.

By sending out regular emails (with value), you will create a relationship with them subconsciously so that when the time comes for them to find a wedding vendor in your category – you’ll be the first on their mind.

And if they no longer need your services – they can simply unsubscribe and move on.

6. Join Every Wedding Directory

If you search for anything on the internet in the wedding world – I’m very sure that a wedding directory of some sort will have one or more of the top 3 spots on Google for that search query. Wedding Directories are powerful tools for your wedding business.

They offer authentic and credible links back to your website which helps with your own Google ranking, and they are trusted by bridal couples.

As part of the aggressive marketing plan, you will want to join and sign up with as many wedding directory websites as you can within your area and your budget. Take the time to create a listing that is jam-packed with incredible keywords and phrases.

7. Start a Youtube Channel or Podcast

This might be uncomfortable for some of you, but if you’re willing to give it a go – a Youtube and/or Podcast can really positively impact your wedding business with future collaboration and networking opportunities and set you up as the expert in your niche.

The content that you share could range from real weddings, advice to others in the industry, or simply providing trends and ideas to share with your future brides.

8. Use Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Youtube, and Google Ads

One of my favorite topics and the most impactful aggressive marketing strategy is paid ads. If you get this right – you can massively grow your wedding business this year.

But – you do not want to start with paid ads. This is the final part of the process – not the beginning. If you try to do ads without setting up your wedding business foundation – it will not work.
