  16. Save all your posts and reels before publishing so you can repurpose them at a later stage.
  17. Work out the best time of day to post to reach your target audience.
  18. Use the Alt Tag feature to describe the post and get more reach (similar to SEO for blogging).
  19. Use between 3 to 9 Hashtags per post and split them into  3 categories: The first category should explain the image or what’s in the video/reel. The next category will be about your business and the third category should be location focused.
  20. Treat your Instagram posts like blog posts as Instagram is using SEO features to help their audience find and reach the accounts they’re interested in.
  21. Mention your account name in every post so your audience can go directly to your profile. In other words, I would add @weddingbusinesspro in every post.
  22. Use the location field to ensure you’re reaching target brides in your area.
  23. Tag/mention other vendors and wedding venues in your posts.
  24. Offer value in your captions – not just sales talk.
  25. Include a call-to-action in half of your posts (not all of them).
  26. Follow other wedding venues and wedding suppliers in your area.
  27. Follow authority wedding accounts eg. The Knot.
  28. Interact with authority accounts and other vendor accounts to get noticed.
  29. Use the DMs to say hello to every new follower – do not copy and paste a generic hello message – keep it personal and real.
  30. Use trending music in your reels.
  31. Save the music you like from other reels on Instagram.
  32. Start using Instagram Ads to grow your followers and drive traffic to your website.
  33. Stay consistent!
Instagram Tips for Wedding Suppliers and Venues

What to Include on Your Instagram Profile

Instagram is a great social media platform for wedding suppliers and wedding venues as it’s one of the main places brides explore for new business ideas, hence why I created this article about Instagram Tips for Wedding Suppliers and Venues.

Your wedding business Instagram profile is hot property and should be set out in a certain way if you want to grow your Instagram following and be found by brides-to-be in your area.

Your Instagram Profile Image

Firstly, you will want to ensure your profile picture is your wedding business logo. I have tested this out with lots of accounts and found Instagram accounts will logos are more favored than those with personal images.

Personal images are important for branding, but brides-to-be trust logo images more than personal headshots for business accounts.

If you don’t want to use your logo – you could add a wedding image that shows the bride what you offer.

Your Name

For the name section in your wedding business Instagram profile, I recommend using your area and category. For instance, if you’re a wedding planner in New York – Your Instagram name would be New York Wedding Planner.

Your Profile username will have your business name in it so you do not need to repeat it in your profile name. Rather use this area to let brides know exactly where you are what you do (or what you can help them with)

Your Description on Instagram

In this area, I recommend using picture icons followed by 5-word sentences on each line. So for our example, the first line could be as follows:

💐Helping brides plan their dream day!

💜PLANNING I FLOWERS I DECOR

🥂Luxury Wedding Planner #nyweddings

💕#NEWYORKWEDDINGPLANNER

Then you will want to ensure you’re website link is working. You can also add a Linktree-style URL or a landing page. I recommend using your link for a lead magnet (preferably your pricing guide) – You can read more about this in this article about simple email marketing for wedding pros.

Best Hashtags for the Wedding Industry

Instagram Tips for Wedding Suppliers and Venues

If you have a wedding business, you will want to ensure that you are using certain hashtags shared within your Instagram content posting calendar. I do not suggest using all of these hashtags for every post. Rather spread it out over the month.

The best hashtags for your wedding business will depend on your wedding services, but as a general rule, here are some hashtags you can use with your Instagram posts:

  1. Your wedding service eg. #weddingplanner
  2. Your location and service eg. #nyweddingplanner
  3. Your location and the word weddings eg. #newyorkweddings
  4. Bride to be and year eg. #bridetobe2022 #bridetobe2023
  5. Something cute eg. #bridesbestie #planningmydreamday
  6. SEO-focused eg. #newyorkweddingplanner #weddingplannernearyou
  7. Your business name eg. #diamondweddings
  8. Descriptive category eg. #topweddingplanner #luxuryweddingplanner

When it comes to hashtags, you need to use them sparingly (max of 9 per post) and ensure they represent the post. Instagram is using SEO as a search/reach feature so you need to use keywords in your caption and hashtags to attract your target brides in your area.
