If you’re looking for wedding venue SEO tips, you’re in the right place! To get your wedding venue on page one for Google searches, you need to follow a wedding venue business-focused SEO plan.

In this article, I’m going to show you how to get your wedding venue on page one when someone searches for a wedding venue in your area.

New Wedding Venues

It is worth mentioning before I share my wedding venue SEO tips about how to get your wedding venue on page one of Google that new wedding venues with new domains might see delayed results.

Google has this mysterious feature called the Google Sandbox.  New websites with new domains usually enter a period where Google will monitor your site before it starts ranking on Google.

This time period varies, but it seems to be between 5 and 7 months on average. So for new wedding venues, you may see a delay in the results you get whilst Google goes through this filtering stage to ensure your site and business are trustworthy.

If you’re planning to open a wedding venue but don’t have a website or domain for the business yet, I recommend getting it up and running as soon as possible.

Even if your wedding venue isn’t open for business yet.  This will help you to get out of the Google sandbox quicker when you are ready to open.

For Existing Wedding Venue Businesses

If you already have a wedding venue and a domain and website associated with that venue, you can start to implement the wedding venue SEO strategies and tips that I outline in the wedding venue SEO plan below.

Wedding Venue SEO Tips

#1 Your Homepage

For your wedding venue’s homepage, you need to bring in Local SEO strategies.

To start, I recommend using one main keyword on your homepage like the following example: Wedding venue in (insert your area)

For example, if your wedding venue is in Brooklyn, New York, you would use Wedding Venue in Brooklyn, NY as your homepage keyword.

Your homepage will need to have at least 500 words spread out over the page.

When I fix SEO on wedding venue websites for my clients, I ensure the homepage has at least 1000 words so my keyword is evenly spaced throughout the entire page.

You will also want to add the same keyword as the Alt Tag to at least 3 images and the main featured image for the home page.

Wedding Venue SEO Recap for Your Homepage

  • Use one keyword such as ‘wedding venue in Brooklyn, NY’ as the title of your page, as the slug of your page, in the image alt tags on the page, and at least 9 other times throughout the page if you’re adding 1000 words (including at least one sub-heading)
  • Add 3 or more images to the homepage with alt tags
  • Ensure to add the meta title, slug, and meta description using the main focus keyword
  • Link to your about page, services page, contact page, and blog.

#2 Your About Page

Your wedding business website will have more chance of ranking high on Google for wedding venue searches in your area if your business follows the E.A.T strategies for website authority.

I talk more about this in my other SEO articles for wedding business owners.

To get the best E.A.T score for your website, you will need to share your expertise, your authoritativeness, and your trustworthiness on your about page.

One of the best ways to do this is to share your story of why you started your wedding venue business, your experience working in the wedding industry (if available), and any testimonies and reviews.

To maximize your google ranking capabilities for your wedding venue’s website, I suggest using a descriptive word within your keyword. For example luxury wedding venue in Brooklyn, NY.

I am a wedding business coach. If you search for wedding business coach on Google, my name appears somewhere on the main page, usually at the bottom or even on page two sometimes because I am still building my authority with Google.

However, if you type in Affordable Wedding Business Coach into the same Google search bar, you will notice that I come up top or at least in the top 5 on Google.

Just by adding this descriptive word to emphasize what makes me different from other wedding business coaches around the world, I can quickly get my website ranking at the top of Google.

Yes, it isn’t for the search term wedding business coach, but for my target audience that is looking for an affordable wedding business coach, I am right there for them to find me.

Recap for Wedding Venue SEO on Your About Page

  • Don’t waste your about page! Instead, you will want to use this page for the purpose of getting Google to trust your website and wedding venue business
  • Add your testimonies and referrals
  • Use behind-the-scenes images
  • Use a descriptive word in the title of the page
  • Don’t just use the word ‘about’ for the title and try to add the keyword to the about page text in the same manner as mentioned for the homepage and the services page
  • Link to your contact page, services page, and blog

#3 Your Services Page

My wedding venue SEO tips for your services page are quite simple – all you need to do on this page is to use the same target keyword used on your homepage but in the opposite way.

So, instead of using a wedding venue in Brooklyn, NY. You will use a Brooklyn, NY wedding venue as the page keyword.

Again, just as with the homepage, you need to add at least 500 words to this page using the keyword throughout the paragraphs and in the subtitles. I recommend a maximum of 9 times per 1000 words.

Quick Recap for my Wedding Venue SEO Tips for Your Services Page

  • Add at least 500 words
  • Use the same keyword used for the homepage but in the opposite way
  • Use the keyword in the text and at least one subheading (max of 9 times)
  • Link to your about and contact page from your services page

#4 Your Contact Page

Again, you do not want to waste the SEO benefits from this page on your website, so instead of using the word contact as the title, rather choose another keyword, this time, I would use the following keyword, wedding venue quotes in Brooklyn, NY.

By adding text and using another target keyword, you will be giving your wedding venue more chances of ranking on Google. Anybody looking for wedding venue quotes in Brooklyn, NY will be more likely to find your wedding venue than if you just stuck to the general contact page idea.

The title in your menu bar can still say contact me, it’s only the meta title and the slug (the extra part that you see in a URL when you click on a page) where you need to add the keyword.

You will then want to add at least 500 words about how any interested brides and bridal couples can get in touch with you to book a wedding venue tour and to get a wedding venue quote. Remember to add your keyword throughout the text in a tasteful manner (no keyword stuffing!).

Wedding Venue SEO Recap for Your Contact Page

  • Use another long-tail keyword for the contact page
  • Keep the menu bar title as ‘contact’ but just change the page meta title to your keyword
  • Add at least 500 words to the page
  • Remember to include the keyword throughout the text without it looking like you are stuffing in the keywords.
  • Link to your about page and services page.

#5 Your Blogs

Finally but most certainly not least is your blog archive page and your blog posts.

For me, as a professional SEO blogger and copywriter, your blog is the most valuable asset you have on your wedding venue website and something that most wedding venues and other wedding business owners fail to use in an effective way.

The articles that you can write and add to your wedding venues website blog provide you with the best opportunities for getting your wedding venue on page one of Google, Bing, and any other search engine.

Every blog post added to your wedding venue website needs to follow a content plan and a blog post structure, using specific wedding venue SEO strategies. Here’s a quick overview:

  1. You need to use one specific long-tail keyword per blog post
  2. Add the keyword in the title of the blog post, the slug, and the meta description
  3. Use the keyword in the alt tag on at least 3 images on your blog post
  4. Add the keyword to the alt tag for the featured image
  5. Write at least 500 words per blog post
  6. Post a new article every week
  7. Add internal and external links to every article on your blog
  8. Use one main title on your blog post with lots of subheadings
  9. Run your article through Grammarly before adding it to your site to ensure your post is written well without any spelling errors or grammar mistakes
  10. Publish and submit your new post to Google using the Google Search Console
