9 Social Media Posts Ideas for Wedding Venues

I have 28 wedding venue social media post ideas in my wedding venues guide but to give you a headstart, here are 9 posts that every wedding venue should be using to attract bridal leads online.

These post ideas can be used on all social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.

Behind-the-Scenes Wedding Venue Posts

A great way to win the hearts of your target audience, ie, bridal couples is to show off the true uniqueness of your wedding venue and what goes on behind the scenes.

These posts could include things like setting up for a wedding, upgrading your property, tasting new menu ideas, and even unpacking deliveries.

For example, a popular post I’ve seen recently by a local wedding venue was a champagne delivery. I don’t recall the exact caption, but it went along the lines of “not long now until we get to pop the champagne with Troy and Julie”

This is such a great behind-the-scenes post as it’s really personal for the bridal couple but also shows that your venue is business, plus you can easily increase awareness by tagging the bridal couple as well as the champagne brand.

Wedding Day Posts

This one is an obvious one, but I do have to point out a quick no-no for wedding day posts. Do not in any way shape or form share any images of a bride before she has tied the knot!

I remember years ago, back when I was wedding planning. A wedding coordinator at the venue that was hosting the wedding took a photograph of the bride as she was getting ready in the bridal prep room, and posted it on Facebook.

The bride was in her wedding dress, all ready to walk down the aisle. She was distraught to see the picture of her show up on Facebook before she had even walked down the aisle.

Thankfully her husband-to-be didn’t go on Facebook so he didn’t see the photograph, but could you imagine if he did?

I know this was a simple mistake by the coordinator but it really upset the bride so be sure to remember that as you move forward with wedding day posts.

Instead, just look for ways to show off the wedding day without revealing everything on public platforms before the bride has even walked down the aisle.

An easy way to do this is to capture your team in a group photo as you are busy setting up for the wedding day. Make it fun and friendly so other bridal couples that follow you will see how your venue is on the ball and relaxed for wedding days.

New Wedding Venue Features Posts

Every wedding venue gets an upgrade from time to time. These make great posts for your social media accounts because they keep bridal couples interested in what you have going on at your venue, especially if the update is big.

For instance, if you’ve just added a new gazebo for garden weddings, share that. If you’ve just added a new firepit for winter weddings, share that. Whatever you’re doing to update and upgrade your wedding venue – share it!

Get to Know You Better Posts

Getting to know your posts are great social media post ideas for wedding venues as they allow you the chance to get personal with your followers.

All you have to do is share an image of a team member each week and describe what they do and why they love working at your wedding venue.

Wedding venues usually have a big team so it’s a great post to add to your monthly social media scheduling plan for wedding venues.

Book a Wedding Venue Tour Posts

Don’t be afraid to sell or market your wedding venue. I have a client that doesn’t allow me to write any sales or marketing copy in their social media captions.

This is a big mistake. Yes, I agree, you don’t want to do this for every post but you do need to use aggressive marketing if you want any chance of booking a wedding from your social media accounts.

Booking tour posts are a good in-betweener way of promoting your wedding venue in social media posts without being too salesy in your captions.

I would create a general image to use for this post every month that shows off your wedding venue tours. You can use the wording ‘Book Your Tour’ or something along those lines to capture your audience’s attention as they scroll.

I give more detail on this in the Social Media Scheduling Plan for Wedding Venues Guide.

We Recommend Posts

If you know about my 12-Step Marketing Plan for Wedding Venues, you’ll already know that word-of-mouth and referrals are hot topics for generating new leads and bookings for your venue.

We recommend posts that are perfect for referrals. By sharing your recommended service providers on your social media platforms, you will generate a lot of interest for your wedding venue, especially if you tag the suppliers in your posts.

Every month you would choose one of your suppliers to highlight in a feature post. Most often than not, the supplier will reciprocate with a post or blog post about your venue on their social media accounts so it’s a great win-win effort.

Collaboration Posts

Collaborations are brilliant for generating content for your social media posts. The content you gain from collaborations and styled shoots can keep you going for months!

All you have to do is invite your local wedding vendors to set up a ‘pretend’ wedding at your wedding venue, hire a couple of models and get a wedding photographer and videographer to capture the moments.

The images and videos that are taken during the photoshoot are then shared with every collaborator who will then go out and share them all over the internet.

I’ve seen them get used in blog posts, stories, reels, and video posts across multiple platforms, and the great thing is, you’ll get noticed by a lot more bridal couples because you will be reaching every other wedding vendors’ audience, and vice versa.

Wedding Trends Posts

These posts are important for keeping up with the brides and understanding what is attractive to them. It’s pointless sharing images from past weddings that look completely out of date.

By sharing current wedding trends, you can attract your target brides to your venue without having to have an endless supply of venue images.

Special Offer Posts

I know a lot of you will turn your nose up at this one, but hear me out!

Bridal couples want to buy what you are selling, but some of them are sticking to a budget and trying to fit everything in.

If a couple is on the fence between two or three venues, your special offer or promotion could be what gets your venue the booking.

I’m not saying that you have to run a special offer all the time, but I am saying that promotion of some kind is a great tool for getting bridal couples to sign on the dotted line.
